James Orville Eaton, 65 of Russell died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle against cancer.
James was born December 26, 1944 in Walsh, Colorado, the son of Fletcher O. and Ruby E. (Long) Eaton. James grew up in Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas.
James was united in marriage to Sharon Lamb in 1995.
James was a Masonry who worked with concrete and bricks. He was a supervisor in Tulsa, Oklahoma before becoming self employed. He had to retire due to health issues in 1999. James and Sharon then moved to Russell where he enjoyed helping people do small repairs on their homes.
James enjoyed Antique shopping, photography and woodworking. He would build small homes and log cabins as gifts for family and friends.
Surviving family include his wife of 15 years, Sharon of the home; children, Lisa Krantz and husband Mike of Corinth, Texas, Jamie Eaton and Tammy Preston both of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Jerry Eaton of Wichita; sisters, Helen Brown of Wichita, Kansas, Mary Ann Ast of Goddard, Kansas, Linda Eaton and Betty Hoag both of Russell, Kansas; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; John, Donnie and James’ twin, Joe.
Celebration of James’ Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with Rev. Cornwell officiating. Cremation has preceded the services.
