James Beatty, 58, of Russell, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Harry Hynes Hospice of Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  James was born on November 11, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Atwell Charles and Helen Jesse (Jewell) Beatty.  He was a longtime resident with Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas.  He is survived by two brothers Joe Beatty of Hays and Arnold Kratky of Wilson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister Agnes Lamar.  A memorial service to celebrate James’s life will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Pioneer Development Center at 15 N. Maple in Russell, Kansas.  Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
