Kenneth Frank Lyle, 48 of Natoma, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at his home after battling lung cancer.

 

Kenny was born March 29, 1962 in Russell, Kansas, the son of Kenneth F. and Linda E. (Wells) Lyle.  In 1967, Kenny and his family moved to Natoma from Russell.  He grew up and attended school in Natoma.  He later attended school to be certified in Water and Waste Water Management.

 

Kenny was united in marriage to Lori A. Shaffer on October 6, 1979 in Russell.  This union was blessed with four sons; twins Tyler and Tanner, Jesse and Jared.  Kenny and his family lived in Plainville from 1980 to 1984 when they moved to Natoma.

 

Kenny worked with his father for Red Tiger Drilling for over 10 years.  Kenny then worked for the city of Natoma as City Superintendent for nearly two decades.  In 2006, Kenny and his wife started Mid Kansas Water Well Service which he operated until present.

 

Kenny attended the United Methodist Church of Natoma and was a volunteer for the Natoma Fire Department.  His passion was coaching little league baseball which he did for over 18 years in Natoma.  He enjoyed training coon and bird dogs and competed Nationally in coon hunting competitions. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, working on motorcycles and tinkering in his garage.  Kenny was quick to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

 

Surviving family include his wife of 30 years, Lori of the home; four sons, Tyler Lyle of Russell, Kansas, Tanner Lyle and wife Heather also of Russell, Jesse Lyle of Natoma, Kansas and Jared Lyle of Hays, Kansas; parents, Kenneth and Linda Lyle of Natoma, Kansas; two sisters, Connie Mayberry of Russell, Kansas and Kristine Holmes of Natoma, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Caylie and James.


Celebration of Kenny’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Natoma Grade School Auditorium with Pastor Dan Hatfield and Robert McCobb officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to service time at the Auditorium.  A memorial has been established with the Natoma Baseball Fund.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.  Condolences may also be sent via email at www.pvpmortuary.com.
