Dolores Jane Holland of Edmond, Oklahoma and former resident of Russell, Kansas died November 8, 2007 at the Fountains at Canterbury Senior Living Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 78 years, 6 months and 9 days. Dolores was born April 30, 1929 in Lakin, Kansas, the daughter of John C. and Gladys E. (Stewart) Campbell. She grew up in the Lakin and Deerfield, Kansas areas and graduated from the Lakin High School and also attended Kansas State University for a short time.
Jane was united in marriage to Clifford Holland, Jr. on August 9, 1953 in Lakin, and from this union they were blessed a son named Andrew and a daughter named Jill. In 1956 they moved and made Russell, Kansas their home. Clifford passed away on January 22, 1989. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, and grandchildren, and enjoyed being a homemaker most of her life. In 1987 she developed the Russell Oil Inc. and was owner and President of the company for many years. Jane was a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Russell, a Kappa Delta Sorority member at KSU and a member of the V.F.W. Post #6240 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving family include her son Andrew Holland and wife Kitty of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma a daughter Jill Holt of Edmond, Oklahoma; former son in-law LeRoy Holt II of Edmond; seven grandchildren Jacob Holland and wife Michelle, and Josiah, Isaiah, Hannah, Micah, Nathanael and Lydia Holland.
Other family preceding Dolores in death was her parents, one sister Barbara Beymer and brother John S. “Jack” Campbell.
