Frederick “Rex” Gillett, 78, of Russell, Kansas died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Hays Medical Center. Rex Was born July 6, 1929, North of Waldo, Kansas, the son of Frederick and Violet (Tabler) Gillett.
Rex grew up north of Waldo and graduated from Waldo High School. He was united in marriage to Gladys Ehrlich on August 13, 1950 in Waldo Township. Gladys preceded Rex in death on May 14, 1984. he was a stockman and farmer for most of his life. Later in life he worked drilling water wells, and in the 1990’s he moved to Russell and operated a lawn service business. Rex enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and tinkering in the garage.
Rex is survived by his two daughters, Marsha and Ronda Gillett both of Russell; one sister Grace Mullender of Waldo; two grandchildren and one great grandchild and longtime companion Joyce Bischoff.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Max Gillett and a son Randy Gillett who died on January 13, 1990
